Grant to help marketing of Revere Beach Creative District
Revere will be getting help from the state in marketing its proposed Revere Beach Creative District through a $22,400 grant recently awarded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. The funding comes through the agency’s Adams Arts Program, which supports partnerships that use art and culture to drive community development. The district is a proposed zoning area at the southern end of Revere Beach Boulevard where the city would encourage the establishment of artist live-work space, artisan shops, and related retail and restaurant spaces. The city has hired Utile, an urban design firm, to seek public input and develop the zoning proposal. The state grant award is contingent on the City Council approving the zoning change. It would fund the hiring of a firm to promote and market the district to developers and artists.
