Dan Rizzo, Revere City Councilor and Candidate for Mayor, is proud to announce his new citywide Spring Cleaning initiative, Revere Shines.

In celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day, Rizzo has filed a resolution with the Revere City Council to establish an annual, city-sponsored beautification and cleanup event on Arbor Day weekend of each year.  Rizzo plans to hold the first annual Revere Shines on Saturday, April 30th from 12 Noon - 3PM.

This year, the Rizzo for Mayor Campaign committee will organize the first ever city-wide cleanup.

"I want to thank the Revere Beautification Committee for helping to spur my campaign committee to action. As your next Mayor, I will ensure that Revere Shines becomes a yearly event that prospers for many years to come. I want every resident to know that we need and want their help. I love Revere and what better way to show our appreciation, than to work with my neighbors to clean up our great city."

Dan hopes that in the coming years he and his colleagues in government, will reach out to the Revere business community to establish partnerships with local, environmentally conscious business leaders interested in lending their support to future cleanup efforts. Along with providing transportation and supplies, this public/private partnership will hold a celebration after the event is finished to thank all volunteers for their hard work.

Revere Shines will give residents, businesses and elected officials an opportunity to come together to make Revere a cleaner, more vibrant community and forge lasting relationships with their neighbors. The event will encourage future service and act as a springboard for residents to work together to tackle other community issues in the future. If residents are interested in helping this year, please go to danrizzo.org, or call the headquarters at 781-629-1189 for more information.
