Cleanliness and Public Health Services

I have no tolerance towards nor patience for seeing litter and filth clutter our streets, parks, and sidewalks. I also do not respond favorably to homeowners and absentee landlords who choose not to maintain their property in a manner that is respectful and expected by surrounding neighbors.

Our Health Inspectors will aggressively seek out offenders, pursue rooming houses that violate our city’s zoning ordinances, and issue fines to those that litter our community needlessly. I will also call on our business community to participate in an effort to keep our city clean and showcase us for what we are; the gateway to the North Shore.

It will also be my goal to expand upon our very successful senior citizen work-off program as well as our youth summer jobs program. They contribute to the city’s cleanup efforts in a significant way.
