Mayor-Elect Rizzo Promises to Move City Forward

The Election for Mayor of Revere was decided last Tuesday night with a landslide result in favor of City Councilor Dan Rizzo. Rizzo won the Mayor's race by a margin of over 1,500 votes. Over the past year Rizzo has made a point to focus on the Economy and Public Safety, the major issues facing Revere, while not getting dragged through the mud. He pledges to be positive in the face of difficult circumstances, and to reach out to everyone for the betterment of the city.

When asked to comment Rizzo explained, “I want to thank everyone, on both sides, that participated in the campaign. It is time to put our differences behind us and pull together as a community to protect what we have worked so hard to build. I want your ideas, energy, and passion with me as we move forward. I am humbled and honored to be the Mayor-elect of Revere."

Rizzo went on to say, “In the coming days and weeks we will announce a transition team which will begin the work of moving us forward. We need to make sure that city dollars go directly toward services. As a business owner, I know how to manage a budget, meet a payroll, and control expenses during tough times. We must ask the same thing of city government."
