Our Veterans Affairs Office became a strong advocate for Revere’s veterans and their families. We improved the office's capabilities to assist Veterans in accessing services and benefits to which they are entitled, and the office continues to promote appreciation of veterans in the community at large.
We have established the Food Bank in Revere along with other communities. The participating communities were Chelsea, Winthrop, Melrose, Wakefield, and Saugus.
Provided and continues to provide necessary financial and medical services for over 165 veterans and their families.
Submitted over 60 V.A. claims for veterans.
Promoted patriotism in the community via cable television as well as decorating veteran graves at the Rumney Marsh Burial Ground, Holy Cross Cemetery, and Woodlawn Cemetery with over 2000 flags. Also provided the Paul Revere Veterans Memorial School with flags on Veterans’ Day Ceremony.
